The Two O'Clock Number
29:03 -- the average ice time per game in the 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs for Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger, who led the league in that category a year ago.
Surely, that number was bumped by the fact that Ryan Parent and Lukas Krajicek couldn't be trusted with much of anything in the postseason, and it's a number that will certainly go down this year with much more reliable parts on the third pairing. Andrej Meszaros has been fantastic all year, but this time of year is exactly what Paul Holmgren went out and bought him for.
Despite this, today's number is worth repeating since it highlights the importance of what Pronger brings to the table in the postseason. We need you, Chris.
No. 20 said at practice today that he expects to be back during this series against Buffalo, and Tim Panaccio reports that Wednesday could be a big day in terms of Pronger goal of getting back for Game 1 on Thursday.

It’s not really a “condition”. It’s simply called overactive elbows.

I figured that because of the defensive talent they put together in the offseason his regular season time would come down leaving him fresher in order to play that kind of minutes in the playoffs again. Maybe slightly less.

He will be extremely fresh when he’s back, as long as his wrist holds up.

Corsi issues aside; I don’t think we would have seen as much neutral zone lollygagging as we have during March and April if Prongs had been in the room between periods to bang some heads. We can only hope that he makes the same kind of difference that he made earlier in the season.

Who said anything about punching? The Pronger prefers elbows.
