The Flyers have updated Chris Pronger's status after practice today, and according to the team, he's listed as a game-time decision for Thursday's Game 1 against the Buffalo Sabres.
This could really go one of two ways. I worry about the idea that Pronger, of all people, wouldn't be ready to go for a playoff game. You know that if he's truly able to play at any level, he's going to play. He is Chris Pronger, you know. So the idea that 36 hours before the game, it's still unknown whether or not he can play is concerning to me.
At the same time, given his extra playfulness with reporters in Voorhees on Tuesday, could the Flyers just be toying around? It's playoff time, and you don't want to give the other team any inclination on what you're going to do in terms of the lineup -- especially when the card you have to play has an impact like The Chris Pronger Card.
That's what the optimistic side of me says, at least. Please let that be true.
