With Pronger, or without, we got this… GO FLYERS!!!!!

Two things:
I would start Bob tonight. As pedestrian as he looked in game 2, and I don’t think you can really fault him for most of that, he was excellent in game 1. Not sure how Lavy can really justify making the switch now but he does tend to overreact so whatever.
If the Flyers lose this round and Pronger doesn’t play, or plays a game or two, how much are we going to have to spend the off season hearing “Well if we only had Pronger.” Granted this team clearly plays better with him, that is undeniable, whether you want to you use the eye test or real information known as statistics, but even still this team should be able to beat Buffalo without him.
I ask because if this team has a disappointing post season run, which to me is not getting back to the finals then will the team be complacent and say, well if we had Pronger it would have been a different story, or will they be aggressive and make the changes they need to make? I like to think long term.

Need to win 1 of this 2 games in Buffalo.Don’t take penalties ( same for the Sabres) and we will be fine.
4-2 Flyers Danny Briere with an hat-trick.Hope to see Boosh starting
Clockwork Orange 10/11

Goalie...
I would not mind seeing Boosh between the pipes tonight. I think the pressure may be getting to Bob, after all this is a pretty big deal for him seeing how he is a rookie and all.
My teams are the Flyers, Phillies and the Steelers. Deal with it.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Bob either. He was very good in game one, and in game two, he got victimized by a few things that really weren’t his fault.
Goal one: Two whiffed shots and a Hartnell stick drop gets Bob moving from side to side before a good pass into poor defensive coverage.
Goal two: Bob holds the post on the first three whacks but for some reason we’re content to let the Sabres just keep on hammering at the puck and the back of his pads, and he slips off the post.
Goal three: Bob goes down a little too quickly on Sekera’s three on one opportunity. But again, that’s three on one.
All of those were preventable by better defense prior to Bob being involved. It made sense to make the switch in Game 2 just to get the momentum going and before a lack of confidence set in, but I don’t think he played himself out of goal by any means. That being said the team is comfortable with Boosh back there too and it shouldn’t be up to our goalie to win these games anyways. That’s what the Sabres need.
I agree with you in principle but I don’t think you can write off the third goal because it was an odd man rush. For Bob it was a 1-on-1. Bob didn’t get beat because he was thinking pass and Sekera took the shot. He got beat the way he always does by going into the butterfly way too early. It’s one of the bigger flaws in his game.

I’m worried about the kind of message that playing Boosh would send. I can’t quite explain it, but the idea just makes me nervous/uncomfortable.
"Dammit, Pronger!"
Message to who?

Mostly the rest of the team. “Look, we have no confidence in our professed playoff starter!”
"Dammit, Pronger!"
I don’t know. I think everyone knows that Lavi goes with the hot hand and trusts his decision. I don’t think it would be that big of a deal.

I oddly feel good about this series because we have three games on the road. I think they probably give Bob the start again tonight. Boos played well but something tells me he doesn’t get the nod.

I’m right there with you. I’m still confident that this series is ours. I also believe Bob will be back in net because Lavy knows he usually bounces back from weak starts and proceeds to have stellar one.
Not to mention I prefer Boosh in the role he’s good at. I’d rather the possibility of Brian coming into a game cold cause Bobrovsky struggled than our rookie coming in if Boosh does.
The Flyers are the deepest team in the NHL, the Phillies have four aces. Man is it great to be a Philly sports fan right now.

When you add links do you always add them to the bottom or just throw them in where it fits? I can’t remember all the links sometimes and pick out the new ones.

What Miller said
Actually doesn’t anger me at all, I’m just happy someone finally noticed. This team can hit, sure, but we haven’t been goons in 30 years. Stupid penalties? Sure. But not goons. We have a ton of skill on this team. Of course, the media is going to make it sound like he’s calling us out rather than pointing out that they’ve been using the same article they wrote in 1978 and just plugging in new names.
Defending Carter until 2021...
He’s crying because the bullshit that wasn’t called in game 1 is being called now. It all balances out anyway.
Why write an new article that makes them work, when the old 30 yr old stand by does fine?

I didn’t even read it as crying. I read it as “They have a lot of skill and want to play with the puck rather than goon it up.”
Defending Carter until 2021...
I’m not exactly sure how “The Flyers would rather score than goon it up” is an insult.
On the Mike Weber bandwagon!
Sabres took the scenic route, but they still MADE IT TO THE PLAYOFFS!!!1
it’s not. It’s a valid observation. And that kind of play is what draws most of their power plays these days.

It does not anger me as much either, but I bet there will be some choice words for Miller tonight, not to mention some net crashing.
It’s all to easy for Miller to say that since he can hide behind hide goalie mask, since God forbid some body touches a goalie.
I would love to see JVR crash the net tonight, especially the way he has been playing. Hell, that would be worth the 2 minutes for goalie interference.
My teams are the Flyers, Phillies and the Steelers. Deal with it.

Start with Bob. Bob can’t do what Boosh can do, which is come in and settle the game down when the starter shits the bed.
Ideally we don’t want the starter to shit the bed.

Look if Bob is Miller are we aren’t even having this conversation. Let’s not forget Miller gave just as many as Bob(at the time of his yanking) but his name is Ryan Miller. Not comparing the two but at what point and time do we as fans and more so the media get the fuck off of our goaltenders and let them do what they came here for. Which is certainly not listening to the “well goaltending is an issue in Philly”. How about Carter, Richards and some other underperfomers put the bisket in the basket. How about Danny Syvret pick up his man instead of watch the puck, Bob’s only goal against in game . I actually don’t have a problem with either in net, but I am tired of hearing about our goaltending woes when it comes to April-June

Is anybody else excited to see if JVR can match his physical improvement (dedication in general really) from last off-season for next year? If he can, whether it’s his physical improvement or just his skills in general he could really become an incredible force. I just remember the difference between last season to the opening of this season was crazy.
Here’s to JVR’s heart and grit.

It was fun. A little more competitive than last time. I probably let it get a little too competitive and didn’t do a good job to make sure the beginners got the puck enough. But it was fun as usual. Also, Vansteel is f’ing hilarious.
