Keep Hope Alive
For once can’t we get a break? Please? Pretty please? Pretty please with a cherry on top?
We look like the fucking keystone cops out there.
I can not wait to see half these team playing somewhere else next year.
Its time to give Duchesne a chance. When nothings going right its time to throw a change. Putting a rookie in gives him a chance to play and tells your team that they need to step up for a young goalie because obviously they don't want to play in front of Boucher which is to bad because he has done nothing to deserve it.
Utterly embarrasing. Anyone who thinks this team has any qualities of being rough and tough haven’t watched this team in 20 years.
Good Night and Good Hockey!
Hey, the assholes scored.
Think Richie will have anything exciting to say in the post-game interview? Other than "it’s frustrating, and has to be addressed"? Maybe they’ll get it figured out over 18 holes in a couple of weeks..
I’m getting real tempted to head over and bitch at them during the open practice Saturday morning
BSH Comment 1: Holy crap, Duchesne.
BSH Comment 2: Tell me this is not the same Jeremy Duchesne who gave up a center-ice goal yesterday?
BSH Comment 1: Oh Doosh. Quit playing like a…….oh, never mind.
BSH Comment 2: a Flyers goalie?
Every fucking time. Every time i think they’re turning things around they just go and do things like that.
nothing respectable about this, 4 goals mean nothing when you’ve played as bad as you have.
How much more fukcing depressing is this that we’re in April and lose to the ISLES of all teams like this?? WTF???? This team is such a disgrace! I’m not abandoning my team but I’m so sick of this shit. This team is beyond bad…it’s pathetic. We don’t deserve to be in the playoffs- that’s for teams that actually give a shit.
The Flyers have to move on from their sixth loss in seven games
- NHL.com
The Philadelphia Flyers say they believe in their goalie of last resort, Brian Boucher. After dropping a 6-4 dud to the last-place Islanders on Thursday, the bigger question is whether they believe in each other.
This one was a Phriggin' disaster. Facing a team they had beaten 15 times in a row, the Flyers were down 3-0 to the Islanders less than eight minutes into the game. Islanders rookie John Tavares set up Blake Comeau for the first two goals, both deflected by Flyers. Frans Nielsen made it 3-0 at 7:45 of the first period.- AOL.com
No effort. Sometimes you have to wonder why we even bother.
Phillies season opener in 3 days. That is honestly all I have to look forward to right now. This march to the playoffs, or crawl to the playoffs is not entertaining in the least. Maybe its because I don’t expect much of anything if they get to the playoffs, or because like tonight, they are backing into the playoffs. Either way, it’s just not entertaining. I blame the team, the make up of the team. I just don’t identify with these Flyers like I did the Flyers of two years ago. It speaks to that whole identity thing that was discussed a few days ago. Ok rant over.
BSH Comment 1: The Flyers don’t win when they don’t score first. And they don’t win on the road. And they don’t win…
This team was 10-4-1 after fifteen games. Since then, they are 28-29-5. They’re just not very good.
BSH Comment 2: They're just not very good
your preaching to the choir man
This is the worst flyer team I’ve ever had to cheer for. I’ve been a fan since around 1982.

Haha…good work. I’m starting to appreciate the even-keeled….ness? But, what would debate be without opposing viewpoints? I’m sure we all remember the circumstances surrounding last year’s end of season and playoffs. But, it’s still extremely frustrating to see a team constantly fail to play to the level it’s capable of.
That said, let’s hope Briere was right the other night when he said it takes the playoffs to start treating games like playoff games. While I’ve been a negative nancy over the past month, I’m definitely not someone that wants anything but the best for this team. Go Flyers!
I'm kind of a dick.
I agree completely with these comments. What I take from this is some people don’t want to believe their eyes and are expecting the improbable will happen at random.

Dude, those comments were from last year down the stretch when we pulled the same shit… The video shows we did… okay… last year.

And I agreed then and I agree now. I’m negative by nature.

I don’t get it. People are saying the effort isn’t there and no one cares and that is all bologna.
Our best player is out, he’s coming back for the playoffs. We are sitting right in the eye of the storm right now. We showed it last week vs. the pens. We’ve got it in us it’s just taking too much to bring it out. It sucks, but when we’ve outshot opponents 2-1 in our last two game vs. non playoff teams and they have 2 GWG go in off of skates- what more is there really to say?

that we’ve got it in us and it’s taking too much to bring it out. It sucks. That’s where the frustration is coming from.

Did we not out play the last two opponents?

ATL, yes. Jersey I’m not so sure (esp. after Carter’s goal)

I agree, but it has to be so demoralizing getting back into these games only to give up fluke goals.

You're Right.
I’ve been particularly negative over the past couple of days but I’m just going to let it go and root for my team. That’s all I can do.
No Philadelphia team EVER does things the easy way. As J-Roll said a couple years back, “That’s not the Philly way.”
The Flyers couldn’t have made it any harder on themselves to win the conference – essentially, they have to win four straight if they want that to happen.
Let’s see what they’re made of. I’ll be there loud and proud tomorrow afternoon.
Let’s Go Flyers!

Yes, we never do things the easy way. I’m not worried at all, we had plenty of chances at the end of the last season to make it in and we had to do it on the last day.
I have faith the team will get it going in the playoffs.

Good bye #12, you will always bleed Orange and Black.
You know, I wanted to bitch at them at practice to wake them up, not to abandon all hope…
I admit to being frustrated and vocal about it, too. I never abandon them and I sit through the end of even the most painful games, so sometimes it gets overwhelming.
But thank you for reminding me that I was just as frustrated last year, it makes it a little easier to deal with.
Does anyone not smile when they see the video?

That video makes me feel good every time I see it. Or the history has been made from the Boston seires. Or anything having to do with that playoff run. I think that it’s just so memorable, and will be the best until we hoist Lord Stanley’s cup.

Ironic
This thread, considering that Justin was making posts agreeing with MarioD’s assessment of how JVR should be sent down to the AHL and the team was horrible.
