Making an Ex-Flyers team...
While watching some of the other first round playoff games, I could not help but notice the number of former Flyers on other playoff teams. There are quite a few! Then I decided to come up with a quick list of players to make a theoretical team.
Forwards - Patrick Sharp, Simon Gagne, Steve Downie, Justin Williams, Michal Handzus, Scottie Upshall, RJ Umberger, Aaron Asham, Rusty Fedotenko, Vinny Prospal, Mark Recchi, Jeoffery Lupul, Mike Knuble
Defense - Dennis Seidenberg, Joni Pitkanen, Luca Sbisa, Andrew Alberts, Steve Emenger, Freddy Meyer, Alexandre Picard
Goalie - Ray Emery, Marty Biron, Antero Niittymaki
This was just from memory with no research. This 'team' is pretty stacked at forward! But, the defense is a little thin and as usual the goaltending would be suspect. ha.
Please add your suggestions or thoughts. Thanks.
(p.s. how did the Flyers not win multiple cups with the best talent available before the salary cap?)

played games
I was thinking of players that actually played a few games.

additional options
Forward: Daymond Langkow, Dainus Zubrus, Glen Metropolit, Ben Eager
Defense: Jim Vandermeer, Mark Eaton, Kim Johnsson, Randy Jones!
Goalie: Sebastien Caron.
I think he was trying for just ex-Flyers in the playoffs, but I’m not positive.

@ McNabb Soup
Oh yes. Those are a few good ones! I don’t know how I forgot Langkow with his nomination for the Masterton trophy in the news. As well as Zubrus, Metro, and Eager is doing well with the Sharks. The defensmen were good ones to point out too. Mark Eaton was good for PItt and I think is now with the Isles, but not sure if Randy Jones was still playing for LA.

I wouldn’t mind having a few of those forwards back, but thank God that isn’t the Flyers’ defense corps.
