Philadelphia Flyers (46-22-11, 103 pts) at Ottawa Senators (30-39-10, 70 pts)

Tonight's goaltenders:
After the jump, questions to answer and our in-game chat.
Questions to Answer
- How does Nikolay Zherdev look tonight after two solid games?
- How does Ville Leino respond to his benching?
- Craig Anderson has been incredible (for the most part) in Ottawa. Can he steal one for the Sens?
- In his second NHL game, what does Stephane Da Costa do for the Sens? He was looked at hard by the Flyers out of college before signing with Ottawa.
Go Flyers.

basically a distinction between the upper and middle class. Back in the 1700s and 1800s the rich people would eat cake, thus the poor people would call the rich people, “cakeeater”
from urbandictionarySupposedly dubbed by Marie Antoinette during the French Revolution. When citizens complained to her that the peasants were starving and that she should give them bread, she replied, “Let them eat cake!”
It is now used as a nickname for all people who live in Edina, MN. Although meant to be an insult (for the dominantely white, rich, and stuck-up high school), many students from Edina now take pride in it. Example: An Edina sports shirt that read, “Cake: Breakfast of Champions”
This term is most well known by its reference to Edina native Adam Banks in “The Mighty Ducks.”

Last games was:
Svatos – Spezza – Michalek
B.Butler – Winchester – Lessard
Shannon – Da Costa – Condra
Neil – Z.Smith – Foligno
Phillip – Lee
Hale – Kuba
Wiercioch – Benoit
However, Svatos got concussed in that game, and they started moving Spezza around a lot, playing with Michalek, Butler, Winchester, Shannon, Da Costa. They called up this kid Wick to fill in, so the actual lines might be a crap shoot. I’d guess:
Butler – Spezza – Michalek
Foligno – Winchester – Lessard
Condra – Da Costa – Shannon
Neil – Z. Smith – Wick
I am predicting another ridiculously boring, underwhelming loss tonight. I will also try not to watch as the team has no interest in playing so why should I watch. Please get this week over with so I can renew my interest.

I have not seen it discussed anywhere yet, but who replaces Leighton on the Phantoms roster? And was Rinaldo suspended again for the kneeing incident?
Backlund will, almost undoubtedly, become the Phantoms starter. The real question is “Who will be the Phantom’s backup?” Not sure if Brian Stewart is currently in the ECHL or not and if he will be called up to Glens Falls.

Oh, btw, best part of sitting on the TPK for 75 minutes this morning not moving an inch was that the AM radio station they have to broadcast emergencies had no information. None.
G, the second coming of Foppa.
Haha. I figure that you were farther north, but when I was going to work at 10:30, there was a massive accident on the southbound turnpike just below Rt 38…. Not only was the turnpike actually closed at exit 4, but there was a gaper delay on 295 because you could see the accident scene from the northbound lanes. It was ridiculous
by DragonGirl0583 on Apr 5, 2011 7:54 PM EDT up reply actions
Yeah, I got on at 5 at 9AM. Went 5 miles and stopped for over an hour. Ended up turning around with a bunch of cars, cutting through the median and looping back north. Went to Woodstown, had a meeting and came back up, they had finally just moved the rest of the accident to the shoulder. So happened around 8-8:30, still cleaning up at 1 PM. Union guys I guess.
G, the second coming of Foppa.
Oh, you were going southbound? Silly me, I had figured you were going north from exit 5. At 10:30 KYW was saying that the first accident (the one by exit 3 that had been out there all morning) was no where near cleaned up. Sounded pretty nasty, actually.
by DragonGirl0583 on Apr 5, 2011 8:01 PM EDT up reply actions
As I flew by on 295 it didn’t look good. Just so annoyed that they didn’t do anything. Could have had a trooper out there turning people around though the median as we ended up doing. There was almost no traffic north, just a few spurts here and there. Horrible.
G, the second coming of Foppa.
Then was it was the one by 38 that I saw at 10:30? The one by exit 3 you wouldn’t have been able to see from 295; so maybe the one just north of 4 had been out there way longer than I realized. When I went by it, there was a parking lot northbound approaching the accident scene, so the delays northbound as people tried to get by is probably why you didn’t see any northbound traffic
by DragonGirl0583 on Apr 5, 2011 8:06 PM EDT up reply actions
You are correct, that would be the one I saw then, you’re correct about 4, everyone was talking about exit 3, which is where I cut back over from 295 at. Very annoying morning. They were diverting traffic at 4, so they must have had another accident, which is why I wasn’t moving.
G, the second coming of Foppa.
Haha, I hate the turnpike… but no more than I hate the 295 construction. I live right near exit 3 and work just below exit 5, and some days both options are bad.

It’s a hard one to decipher because he was ready for a hit that would have been legal but as soon as the other hit was made the level of his elbow was horribly dangerous.

Holmstrom’s elbow would’ve been at the Ottawa player’s body. Then Carle hit him, causing the Ottawa player to bend over about half a foot, right where Holmstrom already had his elblow stationed. It was bang bang, and I can’t fault Holmstrom for preparing for a legal hit

Holmstrom actually falls into a gap in the chart – is he a second or third liner, or a goon? I classified him as “third liner.” If he’s “goon,” 5 games.
Bob.
Definitely not a goon.

I wish Powe had the opportunity to score on a power play, so I could make something corny up, such as: Now that was a Peco POWEr play.
Can’t really see it happening. Get ready for a make-up call though.

Maybe so. But to be honest with you, I think this team has more than a few players who don’t seem to like listening to any coach, whether it’s Hitch, Stevens or Lavy.

"You can commit no mistake and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life." - Jean-Luc Picard
But they didn’t respond to Homer, either, and he’s tried. So I’m not sure Homer is inclined to think Lavy didn’t do enough to try to get them going

Well I think the issue is the player, or players, not the coaches.
