Playoff Seeding

Ok guys, as you all know the flyers have been in a bit of a slump lately. Well, more than just "a bit" but we'll leave it at that. As we all know, this slump seems to be the main topic of conversation on game days and if they haven't already by now, the whole league knows about it. Although NHL.com are putting it down to injury woes. It also didn't get better after last nights loss to Ottawa with Washington taking the lead in the East and the Flyers dropping down to second. So, to try and put a positive spin on a pretty bad situation and engage in a little debate read on for more after the jump.

Star-divide

If you haven't already seen it already NHL.com takes a look at first round playoff predictions if the season ended today. Now, I know that there are still two games left in the season for all of the teams in the East fighting for a playoff spot bar Boston and Carolina and that alot could change in those two games for the 7th and 8th seeds. Also, if by some miracle there could be some change at the top if the Flyers actually managed to win the next two games and for Washington to drop there next two but back to trying to put a positive spin on this.

At the minute if the season ended today the Flyers would be up against Buffalo in the first round rather than the Rangers if we were still in first, now's where the debate comes in. I personally at this moment and time would rather play Buffalo in the first round as we're 2-1 against them this season (I know not much but remember, stay positive) Although we will know more after Fridays game. The reason why I would prefer to have Buffalo is because even though the Rangers have just lost Ryan Callahan to a broken leg, lately they seem to have had our number and found a way to beat us even if we played well (reference to last game) Now, both teams have been on fire recently with New York going 7-2-1 and Buffalo 7-1-2 with both losing key players to injury. Now, I think that Buffalo losing Miller is a bigger blow than New York losing Callahan because as we know Miller can steal games along with Lundqvist who already has stolen one from the Flyers. I think that if Miller still isn't 100% but plays in the playoffs it gives the Flyers a bigger edge than having to play against a healthy Lundqvist. Also there is the possibilty that Miller may not be able to go in which case rookie Jhonas Enroth would go and although he has preformed more than admirabley recently I doubt he will be able to keep it up, especially in the playoffs.

So there's my arguement for why I would prefer Buffalo, now it's your guys turn to debate about who you'd prefer to face first round aswell as doing the poll.

Thanks for reading.
