BUFFALO, NY - APRIL 20: Head coach Peter Laviolette of the Philadelphia Flyers argues a penalty call with referee Francois St. Laurent #38 aginst the Buffalo Sabres in Game Four of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals during the 2011 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at HSBC Arena at HSBC Arena on April 20, 2011 in Buffalo, New York. Sometimes, the NHL does smart things. This is one of those things.
They're auctioning off four ties worn by Peter Laviolette during the Buffalo series -- one from each win. I've gotta say, of all the things I could possibly buy from this playoff run, neck wear is at the top of the list.
The bidding starts at $1,500 and closes on the 13th. All proceeds benefit Flyers Charities. /hard hitting news
Also, quick PSA: Speaking of Flyers Charities, we've donated $230 to them. The money was originally collected from yall, BSH readers, as a bid for the Hockey Bloggers For Charity campaign done by our friend Chemmy from Pension Plan Puppets, but we didn't win that auction. Instead, it's going to another good local cause.
