Last week I called in to HNIC on SiriusXMand referenced Geoffs controversial "Do the Flyers Need A High Priced Goalie" article. Jeff Marek looked it over on air and said he would read it later and asked  I call back this week. I spoke with him again yesterday and he was floored by how great the article was and it looks like he read other articles as well. He agreed with the numbers but really has a problem with what numbers can't deal with, and that is the intangibles. He said bringing a guy like Bryz or Vokoun could work but they have never played under the microscope that goalies play under in Philadelphia so you never know. After a few bad games and the crowd turns on them he does not know how they would react. He also said that there are maybe 5 top tier goalies in the NHL and 30 teams so there are not enough to go around, so looking at the systems the goalies play under is very important.

I again mentioned that I referenced the site last week on the show as a bunch of "Stat Geeks"  but that I said that it was a compliment and Marek again said he wears his "Stats Geek" status as a badge of honor. I also again touted how indepth the articles are and gave props to Travis, Ben, Eric and Geoff. I hope I did not leave anyone out because you all deserve to be noticed for your work.
