I guess those reporters were right, he was just a young gutless captain with no heart, just like Richard’s is.

Halak is 26 years old, and of the echelon of Vokoun and Bryzgalov

Only about 5 years younger, which to me makes him a franchise player, like that of Carter

Career ESS%

Vokoun .927
Bryzgalov .926
Bobrovsky .923
Halak .922
Average starting goalie .921

Yeah, I just wouldn’t put Halak in the same tier as Vokoun by any means. Since the lockout, Vokoun’s ESS was .941, .931, .927, .935, .937, .919. Excluding a 4-start season, Halak’s ESS has been .906, .922, .933, .916.

Btw….sportscenter just ran its top ten playoff comebacks of all-time.

Our boys’ deal they did with Boston last year was #4. Should’ve been #2. I can’t take away what Frank Reich and the Bills did against the Oilers. But, they were better than Knicks/Pacers and Celtics beating the Lakers after being down by 24 in the Finals last year.

We’re hockey and they are ESPN. I expect 4 b/c we aren’t the NFL, NBA, nascar, ncaa football or basketball, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, NHRA, bull riding, WNBA, softball, little league world series.

They’re still #2 in my book on that list. They did the unthinkable and that team, from April through the beginning of June gave me the best ride of my life.

I did not think there could be a zanier series-winning goal than the Blackhawks in Game 6 of the 2010 SCF.

Bieska and the Canucks just proved me wrong.

Favorite goal in my hockey watching era. I loved the wraparound Primeau game-tier in game six of the ECF vs Tampa as well.

Carter face-off goal was cool.

I do feel bad for SJ (their fans must feel snake-bitten), but Vancouver thoroughly earned their spot in the SCF.

I’ll be pulling for them in the Final.

I mean I get they are expected to win…but making it to the conference finals to lose to the Blackhawks last year and the Canucks this year is hardly a failure IMO.

They definitely could have made this series more competitive by winning game 4 – they had LOTS of PP time early in the game and then had breakdowns of discipline in the 2nd period resulting in the trio of 5-on-3 opportunities for Vancouver (which all became goals). If I were a Sharks fan, I would have been furious and/or completely frustrated with the team after that game. And last night’s game could have been a win for the Sharks as well, either in regulation or in overtime (and the overtime winner couldn’t have been more flukey).

Still, I wouldn’t label them failures either – Chicago and Vancouver were/are quite good. (Maybe he meant “failure” in the sense of not getting past a WCF; in that case, he would certainly be right.)

Ah, well…better luck to both our clubs next year.

Yeah the Vancouver series was much closer than the series score indicates. But yeah…I don’t buy in to the SJ playoff failures hype.

I frequently watch the history will be made commercial with this goal. It just makes me smile.

I tried to embed the Youtube video when we were talking about Richards. I think this flies in the face of everyone saying he doesn’t want to win hockey games.

Loved this goal.

Where was I: Sitting on my couch. Fortunately for me it was the comfortable one before my wife traded comfort for aesthetic appeal.
