This one hurts. If we'd had Prongsy at all this series, maybe we would have had a chance. If Danny B hadn't fanned that shot at the end of Game 2, maybe we would have had a chance. Instead, the Flyers are on a plane home and the Big Bad Bruins are preparing to face the Lightning.
But I, for one, can say that I'm really looking forward to next season. 2nd place in the Eastern Conference? That's definitely something to be proud of. If Bob can improve on this season, and the Flyers can re-sign some key players (looking at you, Ville Leino), the Flyers are going to be tough to beat. Dare I say unstoppable? No, but pretty darn close. The Flyers are going to have a long time to think about how to improve, and I know that the next time we face the Bruins, we're going to have a different result.
Remember: 29 teams go home disappointed. One team goes home victorious. Good season Flyers, and I can't wait to see a better version of you guys out on the ice next year.
