In a move that does not come as a major upset, Chris Pronger was named the Flyers' captain for the upcoming season.
Danny Briere and Kimmo Timonen were named the assistants, which is also not a complete shock, although there had been some speculation that the honor might go to Jaromir Jagr, who has been a captain before, or to Claude Giroux, who may be the captain someday soon.
