ORIGINAL STORY 10:44 AM: A plane crash has claimed the lives of at least 40 people in Russia on Wednesday, and that plane was carrying the KHL's Lokomotiv ice hockey club en route to their first game of the season in Minsk.

In his first year as Lokomotiv head coach? Former Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Brad McCrimmon. We don't know who perished in the crash, but it's quite possible that McCrimmon is among the dead. Other names you'd recognize on the Lokomotiv roster include Karlis Skrastins, Ruslan Salei, Karel Rachunek, Josef Vasicek and Pavol Demitra
