Boosh and Noodles sounds like a children’s cartoon. Boosh Noodle however, sounds like something the French porn industry would call a “fluffer”.

More specifically
He had 1 point here, 1 assist, in 12 games.
He has 4 points there, 2 goals and 2 assists, in 17 games.
But I haven’t watched a Canes game since he joined the team. Not sure how he is being used there, especially since BtN is a mix of both teams data.
being obnoxious and self righteous while ignoring the point since 9/29/11
Yeah, don’t know how he’s being used, but his non-traditional numbers with the score close aren’t good:
GF/GA = 4/2
Shot% = 41.3%
Fen% = 39.4%
Corsi% = 44.1%
Even on Carolina (21/27, 48.4%, 47.9%, 48.7%) that’s not good.

Yeah they are pretty horrendous, hence why i tried to get out of it with the “not sure how he is being used” excuse; while accurate, I don’t think it is enough to make up for his results.

No, but he’s been there for 5 weeks. And his numbers in Philly were fantastic.

He played 12 games in Philly. I happen to have his numbers logged after 9 — he had a 0.518 Corsi Rel QoC and 53% OZ starts, with a Corsi on of -8.9 and a Corsi Rel of -11.4.
Now his totals for the year (including all 12 games in Philly and 17 in Carolina) are a 0.525 Corsi Rel QoC, 53% OZ starts, a Corsi on of -9.2, and a Corsi Rel of -11.6.
Seems like he’s been about the same since he left as he was here this year.

Anyone interested in a craigslist type thread where people would be looking to get rid of or obtain Flyers stuff?
I was looking at my Bernie 1 banner last night and realized I wish I could have all 4 of them hanging on a wall somewhere. Wondering if anyone had extras or were looking for something else I might have extras of?

before pronger..was our defense this inconsistant and incompetant? it seems ,like so many games become a shooting gallery. or is it lavys run and gun system. if its lavys system i wonder what the team would be like if they totally bought into a dave tippet system with the d men we have

Flyers Suck!...it's true

This whole “We have more talent than team X” needs to go.. The Flyers have shown exactly how much talent they have, which is about the same as the Ottawa Senators.
Every year it’s the same crap…. “The flyers are loaded in D, and they can role 4 lines, blah blah blah”. Just face the facts that we could just as well cheer for Ottawa the rest of the season and we’d have the same chance of cheering for a team that will win the Cup. But, do any of us really think Ottawa is going to win the Cup??
Rather than buying this deadline, maybe jettison some of our aging players if possible so we have room to sign guys like Voracek, Schenn, Courts, Bourdon, and Carle. The future is not now.

Flyers Player Tree
Several months ago a Flyers player tree was released featuring current players. I was working on one myself and figured I would try and complete the entire tree. I have since completed the tree and forgotten about. Today I have rediscovered it and wish to share it with all interested, but I am just not sure as to the best way to do this. It is currently in an Excel file.
Also, I imagine it contains some mistakes that can hopefully be corrected
Ralph Wiggum lost his shin guard...hack the bone, hack the bone.
I was going to update it in the offseason once more trades/signings/draft picks emerged, but if you’re at it now, go for it. IIRC, what I did was highlight the entire table in Excel, paste it into Paint, save it, and upload it. Hope that works for you.
by everybodyhitswoohoo on Jan 10, 2012 4:06 PM EST up reply actions
I will give that a try. I knew someone did it. Did you just do the current iteration of the team or the entire history starting in the 1960’s? My tree starts with the initial expansion draft.

I know Geoff’s power ranking formula is broken because the Caps don’t look awful in it.
Please, call me F&B.
They’re sixth in Fenwick tied, which is the heaviest-weighted component in Geoff’s ranking because it’s the best predictor of future results.
Strangely, they are 29th in Fen-when-up-2, 20th in Fen-when-up-1, 24th in Fen-when-down-1, and 26th in Fen-when-down-2. Hmmm.

Except they’re really good when the game is tied. But then they score and suck. Or sometimes the other team gets lucky and scores, and then they suck. But when it’s tied, man, look out.
Strangeness.
@BSH_EricT
Writer at Broad Street Hockey
I feel comfortable saying the Caps just suck. And I’ve watched at least half the games this year.
Please, call me F&B.
How much of that is the .903 goaltending though? And do you expect them to be a .903 goaltending team over the second half?
Before you answer that, I should remind you that .903 is Steve Mason’s career save percentage.
@BSH_EricT
Writer at Broad Street Hockey
Yeah, the .903 sure hurts. But they also suck. And the goaltending was actually worse under BB than under Hunter. Their Fenwick has dropped under Hunter, so that’s not a good sign. Goaltending had a hand in getting BB fired but it’s not the main issue with Hunter.
The team is a shambles.
Please, call me F&B.
When I went to a game in early December, I couldn’t figure out the line combinations. This was back when Knuble was on the fourth line, Johansson was with Ward, and a few others. Just seemed like they had third line guys on the first line, second line guys on the third line, top-9 guys on the fourth line, and so much more.

Yeah, that’s still going on. With a healthy lineup Knuble is a 4th liner (he has been top 6 lately with Semin and Backstrom injured). Jeff Halpern is the 2C. Yes. Read that again. Jeff Halpern is the 2C. When the lineup is healthy Laich/Chimera/Ward play the 3C shutdown role, but they get more minutes than the 2nd line, so maybe Laich is the 2C and Halpern is the 3C. Who knows. What I know is that they have at most one line that can score, and that without Backstrom that line can’t score. AO gets murdered PvP, Hunter wants to ride the top lines/pairs as much as possible, but they aren’t good enough to handle that (maybe the lack of depth is why he has to ride the top players). Hunter doesn’t want them to be a “score off the rush” team, so it appears he’s made them a “score never” team. The goaltending has been there for the most part but the D zone coverage is still spotty. It’s a mess.
Please, call me F&B.
Yeah, I’m honestly surprised by the lack of second line players on the Caps. I thought it would be Johansson, but he really has no wingers. Unless you think Troy Brouwer and Brooks Laich are second-line wingers.

OK, so the Capitals are the league’s strange only-good-when-tied team.
Care to guess who the photo-negative only-good-when-not-tied team is?
That’s right, the Flyers are 8th in Fen-when-down-2, 6th in Fen-when-down-1, 6th in Fen-when-up-1, 10th in Fen-when-up-2, but 20th in Fenwick tied.
