Possible "Tradees" for a Defensemen?

With Prongs going out for the season/playoffs, and given the defensive breakdowns as of late, it's safe to say we need to go out and get a solid D man to help sure up our young squad. This obviously is nothing new to report, considering all the talk on this subject along with the latest talks about possibly getting Ryan Suter. The main thing I've been mulling over lately is exactly who the Flyers should move to attain a D man.

Some friends and I have talked about and I'd like to offer my thoughts, as well as hear yours. Many people I have talked to have suggested trading JVR. It pains me to consider this because I really do like him and I feel it's too early to denounce him for not living up to his contract, but the more I think about it and weigh it against other options, it seems the most plausible. Reader, Schenn, and Briere were brought up in the conversation as well, but I feel those options don't make as much sense. Reader has been an outstanding addition to our team this early in his career and he shows no signs of slowing down, not to mention he epitomizes Flyers hockey (fast, gritty). Schenn was one of the main pieces, if not the main piece, of the Richards trade, so I feel it problematic to not invest more time into him. Briere is getting older and I feel he is simply no longer as attractive as he once was, especially in trying to secure top-tier D talent.

What are your thoughts???
