Here is to hoping Bryz has another good performance. We have to get him going. Bob was awesome against Islanders, only reason it wasn’t a blowout really. I wonder if he will get the start tomorrow than?

He’d absolutely have to be the #2 inductee, right after DSOD. Latvia mania started only 5-6 weeks after the WC in Boston. Heck, we might even want to throw in an honorary mention to Edgars Masalskis and the rest of the 2010 Latvian team while we’re at it.

I am listening to the Devils radio broadcast. The woman commentator was talking about injuries, and she mentioned that Betts was out with a knee problem, then she said the Flyers said he was out for “knee and personal issues”.
Has the Flyers made an announcement about Betts that wasn’t discussed on BSH.com? Or is it Holmgren’s personal issues, as in, Holmgren personally has an issue with Betts coming off LTIR?
Holmgren said recently that Betts was having some personal issues, but his knee is what’s probably gonna keep him out this year.

There was an article saying that Homer had met with Betts and that he’s not doing well. No idea, but it sounds he like he’s not in a position, both physically and emotionally, to play. Apparently, they were thinking of getting him into the lineup at some point, but a skate at the practice facility did not go well.

Can we discuss what is going to happen with the Devils? The NHL is paying the tab to keep them skating, litteraly. Where will the Devils be playing next year? Who will own them?

No, but it’s not like the majority of forwards actually do that anyway. Usually only a couple of them manage to play all 82 in a given year

That’s not unusual for a concussion sufferer, but in this case, I think lingering concussion issues would be a secondary or tertiary factor and not the primary one. His linemates being off-kilter and him beating himself up in frustration are probably more to blame in my opinion

Just woke me up from that first period. Jags being out is not a bad thing, we need good chemistry for a Giroux line with him out, which will be often this season.
I’m personally not a fan of a Voracek for D-Man trade (Gleason) as he has so much pace & energy. I feel like he’s carrying the puck into the offensive zone very disrpoportionately often vs. the rest of the team. The way we’re playing now, don’t know if we want to lose a player like that. We could be somewhat slow otherwise.

He probably wouldn’t have had the chance to show the Flyers what he could do in training camp, so the Flyers might not have put as much priority on him. If they hadn’t messed it up last year though, it’s possible they would have made the same CBA mistake on somebody else at some point.

He probably wouldn’t have had the chance to show the Flyers what he could do in training camp, so the Flyers might not have put as much priority on him. If they hadn’t messed it up last year though,it’s possiblethey would have made the same CBA mistake on somebody else at some point.because homer cant read.

You guys are also overlooking the whole in-draft fiasco aspect of this.
They thought about taking him in the third round, decided to go another way, forgot about him, remembered he was out there in the seventh round, decided to take goon Derek Mathers instead and sign Hyka after the draft, and then learned they couldn’t.
So it’s not just that we wouldn’t know about him if they hadn’t tried to sign him after the draft; it’s also that they decided to take a goon in the 7th round over a guy who they considered 3rd round talent.

Yeah, I wasn’t saying that nobody knew about this, just that if we’re revisiting the whole fiasco, the clownish forgetting about him, then remembering him at the end of the draft and deciding to pass on drafting him is a big part of it.

Yup.
This season seems to be completely validating our perception of how great Homer is in one area – talent evaluation – and how unconcerned/unaware he is of other stuff – cap management, draft choices, etc.

No, they brought him even though they never would have been able to sign him to begin with. And he was a guy they considered to be 3rd round talent in the 2011 Draft, was available in the 7th round, and as Eric mentioned they picked a goon instead. Keystone Kops incompetency all the way around on that one.

Well, I was the one who noticed the situation and proved why we couldn’t do it when nobody else knew that…. Travis made it into a nice pretty article, and he’s the one who reached out to Hanrahan and made the team realize that they needed to re-read Article 8. I can’t deny Travis’ role there

The Keith line, which is the northeastern border of Burlington County, was the main portion of the diagonal border, but most of Mercer count was also in West Jersey with the rest of what we’d now call South Jersey. GMAT verbal section question, Philadelphia sports version.
In 2015, which one of the following will prove to be a better investment?
(a) Ilya Bryzgalov's contract (b) Ryan Howard's extension (c) Mike Vick's extension (d) Greek bonds from 2009 (e) Papelbon's bloat deal
We’re just about at 500 though, so we’ll need a new one for the third.
Shaun, if you want to start it go ahead, I didn’t start setting it up yet

Again the ref with the worst view call the penalty. There should be a rule if you cant see anything dont call anything

I don’t understand how a 10 minute misconduct doesn’t result in a minor?! Shouldn’t they go hand in hand? You can be a total fuckwad and get your self tossed for a sixth of the game but don’t worry your team won’t be hurt beyond that.

Didn’t question why he got the 10 just saying that the 10 should effect manpower.

Good hit, there’s no rule about not hitting into the net. It wasn’t the boards.

Cuz…it was clean. His arms were down. I would imagine the net can’t take a whole lot of force before it dislodges.
I heart our rookies.

Its pretty dangerous to make such a hit, Talbot could easy have slammed his ínto the goalpost

Lol wrong post to reply to, was meant to Kreider
by Anders Jensen on Jan 21, 2012 2:42 PM EST up reply actions
He did slam into the goal post, which is why they move now. You can still be hurt, but hopefully not badly. It’s like a receiver in football going over the middle—you’re going to get hit.

He managed to get his hands up, but had he not, he would have been injuried
by Anders Jensen on Jan 21, 2012 2:44 PM EST up reply actions
One of the costs of going to the net like that. It happens.

Had it been near the boards it would have been a penalty and a suspension.
I think the only reason its not a penalty there is because how often is a play in such position infront of the goal?
by Anders Jensen on Jan 21, 2012 2:48 PM EST up reply actions
Well, if it’s near the boards, it’s a penalty called boarding. That’s just a good hit in open ice. It was near the net, but the net moves.

Even if the net can move, crash head first into the post is still a head injury (lucky Talbot got his hands up)
by Anders Jensen on Jan 21, 2012 2:52 PM EST up reply actions
I love Talbot but…that’s not a penalty.

Lol Hartnell takes two penalties
