Nicklas Grossmann wants to play in Sweden with Matt Read, but insurance costs are proving prohibitive.

Matt Read and Rangers forward Carl Hagelin have already made a nice transition to Sweden's second-tier league, Allsvenskan, with Södertälje SK. Will another member of the Atlantic Division join them?

Flyers defenseman Nicklas Grossmann, a native of Sweden who played his junior hockey with SSK in the early 2000s, has left the Philly area and is now in his homeland, according to Expressen.

Grossmann has been trying to join SSK for much of this lockout, and Expressen reports that talks began back in the summer. The hold up revolves around insurance costs. The $3.5 million per year contract Grossmann signed late last season with the Flyers costs more to insure than Read's entry-level deal, and those costs are proving prohibitive.

Hopefully Grossmann never plays a game in Sweden, if only because that means we're playing NHL hockey sooner than later.
