The Twelve Days of Lockout

Maybe it’s due to hockey withdrawal or maybe the flu bug I got two weeks ago, but anyway here’s a little something to help you get through the lockout.

On the First Day of the lockout, Europe gave to me:

Bob in goal for SKA Petersburg.

On the Second day of the lockout, Europe gave to me:

Two Metallurgs(1) and Bob in goal for SKA Petersburg.

On the Third day of the lockout, Europe gave to me:

Three French Eiẞbären(2), two Metallurgs and Bob in goal for SKA Petersburg.

On the Fourth day of the lockout, Europe gave to me:

Four flying Finns, three French Eiẞbären, two Metallurgs and Bob in goal for SKA Petersburg.

On the Fifth day of the lockout, Europe gave to me:

FIVE GOLD RINKS…four flying Finns, three French Eiẞbären, two Metallurgs and Bob still in goal for SKA Petersburg.

On the Sixth day of the lockout, Europe gave to me:

Six games in Sweden, FIVE GOLD RINKS… four flying Finns, three French Eiẞbären, two Metallurgs and Bob in goal for SKA Petersburg.

On the Seventh day of the lockout, Europe gave to me:

Seven skaters for Yaroslavl, six games in Sweden, FIVE GOLD RINKS… four flying Finns, three French Eiẞbären, two Metallurgs and Bob in goal for SKA Petersburg.

On the Eighth day of the lockout, Europe gave to me:

Eight Ice Maids dancing, seven skaters for Yaroslavl, six games in Sweden, FIVE GOLD RINKS… four flying Finns, three French Eiẞbären, two Metallurgs and Bob in goal for SKA Petersburg.

On the Ninth day of the lockout, Europe gave to me:

Nine Nottingham Ales(3), eight Ice Maids dancing, seven skaters for Yaroslavl, six games in Sweden, FIVE GOLD RINKS… four flying Finns, three French Eiẞbären, two Metallurgs and Bob has two assists for SKA Petersburg.

On the Tenth day of the lockout, Europe gave to me:

Ten years in Siberia(4), nine Nottingham Ales, eight Ice Maids dancing, seven skaters for Yaroslavl, six games in Sweden, FIVE GOLD RINKS… four flying Finns, three French Eiẞbären, two Metallurgs and Bob in goal for SKA Petersburg.

On the Eleventh day of the lockout, Europe gave to me:

Eleven Latvians leaping, ten years in Siberia, nine Nottingham Ales, eight Ice Maids dancing, seven skaters for Yaroslavl, six games in Sweden, FIVE GOLD RINKS… four flying Finns, three French Eiẞbären, two Metallurgs and Bob in goal for SKA Petersburg.

On the Twelfth day of the lockout, Europe gave to me:

Twelve Czechmates for Jagr,

Eleven Latvians leaping,

Ten years in Siberia,

Nine Nottingham Ales,

Eight Ice Maids dancing,

Seven skaters for Yaroslavl,

Six games in Sweden,

FIVE GOLD RINKS…

Four flying Finns,

Three French Eiẞbären,

Two Metallurgs and

Bob in goal for SKA Petersburg.

Here's hoping hockey comes back soon!

1) Magnitogorsk and Novokuznetz.

2) Danny, Claude and Julian.

3) You can’t have too many ales after a game in Britain, am I right?
