Wayne Simmonds is in action in Germany on Friday while several Flyers' prospects suit up for the CHL clubs. Eisbären Berlin plays without Claude Giroux and Danny Briere.

It's a relatively slow day today for Philadelphia Flyers players and prospects. Let's take a look at everybody's hockey day around the globe this Friday.

  • The Adirondack Phantoms are not on the ice today in Voorhees, but cuts could come at any time now. They have one more South Jersey practice day on Sunday before returning to Glens Falls next week.
  • Why could the Phantoms start making cuts soon? Well, the Trenton Titans kick off their preseason schedule Friday night at the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees. They'll take on the Reading Royals at 7 p.m., and the game is free to the public. If you need a hockey fix, there ya go.

In Europe today ...

  • Wayne Simmonds is in action for ETC Crimmitschau. The club is in Bremerhaven to take on the Fischtown Pinguins. In all lands, we hate the Penguins. The game begins at 1 p.m. Philadelphia time. As far as we know, there's no way to watch and there's certainly no English radio feed, but you can follow along here.
  • Claude Giroux and Danny Briere aren't there just yet, but Eisbären Berlin, our new favorite team, is in Nuremberg to take on the Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers at 12:30 p.m. ET. A feed may be available here.

In North America today ...

  • Nick Cousins and the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds host the Kitchener Rangers at 7 p.m. ET tonight. Cousins had a goal and an assist in the Greyhounds' last game on Wednesday night and he's just two points behind Oshawa's Boone Jenner, the 37th overall pick in the 2012 draft, for the OHL league lead through five games. You can listen live via the Greyhounds website.
  • Speaking of Oshawa, Scott Laughton and the Generals host the Kingston Frontenacs in OHL action tonight at 7:35 p.m. Radio feed is available through the Generals website at game time.
  • Taylor Leier and the Portland Winter Hawks are in Brandon, Man. to take on the Brandon Wheat Kings at 8:30 p.m. ET this evening. The game will stream live at WinterHawks.com. You can go to the game and get a free Wheat Kings schedule magnet if you want. Seems like it's worth the airfare.
  • All OHL games are available to watch online for a fee. A season pass is $300 CAD, a single-team season pass is $195 CAD and a single game is $7 CAD. You can also buy any five games for $6 per game or any 10 games for $5.50 per game. Roughly the same deal for the Western Hockey League.
  • As we reported earlier this week, defenseman Valeri Vasiliev has left Russia and will join the USHL's Waterloo Black Hawks, but there's still no word on if he'll join the club this weekend. Waterloo hosts Youngstown at 7 p.m.
