So I'm finally gonna see some Flyers in action

Stay connected for news and updates

It's going to happen. Something that I never really thought would happen since I live in Germany and am a piss poor student. I'm gonna see Philly's own Claude Giroux and Danny Briere live and in person.

I've been a Flyers fan for quite some time now, actively following them since the 08/09 season (that's when I got internet access and was able to watch streams). There always was (and still is) the dream to come over to Philly one day to see the Flyers play in person. Well, since I'm studying now, I figured it would be some more years until that might be affordable .But then there came the 2012 NHL lockout.

Of course, I was as disappointed and angry as the next guy when that happened. In fact, I still am. Give us some god damn hockey!

However, it all changed a bit last week. That's when it was made public that Danny Briere and Claude Giroux, of all people, would come over to Germany to play for Eisbären Berlin. Don't get me wrong, I'm still pissed about the lockout, but the fact that G and Danny are going to play some games here makes it a lot more bearable for me.

And it's even gonna be a close-up experience. Just today, I bought tickets to the Eisbären game on October 31st in Hanover, which is practically around the corner from where I live. Best part: First row seats, right next to the visiting team's bench for only 25 Euros (that's approximately 32 Dollars). Needless to say I'm gonna wear a Flyers sweater. I'll also make sure to take some pictures to share on here and on my Facebook page.

Can't wait to see them play!

Update 10/13/2012: Just got my tickets in the mail. This is gonna be awesome!
