More tickets released, Lauren Hart to sing the anthem, Rick Tocchet to coach New Jersey, dude from Jersey Shore to coach New York.
As it turns out, this Hurricane Sandy charity game was a pretty good idea.
Tickets sold out earlier this week, but Friday afternoon event organizers for Operation Hat Trick announced that they'll be releasing more tickets for Saturday night's game as a result of the overwhelming response from hockey fans all over the region. You can purchase them through Ticketmaster or by calling the Boardwalk Hall box office.
Operation Hat Trick organizers also announced that Lauren Hart will sing the National Anthem at the game, which begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday night in Atlantic City. Doors will open an hour prior at 6 p.m.
Former Flyer and current CSN analyst Rick Tocchet will coach Team New Jersey/Philly. Vinny Guadagnino from MTV's Jersey Shore will coach Team New York, and no, that's not a joke. Seriously. This guy.
Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Sammy Hagar, who owns a beach bar at Bally's Atlantic City, has pledged to donate $1,000 for every goal scored at the game (up to $10,000). The money will benefit the NJ Hurricane Relief Fund, the Empire State Relief Fund and the American Red Cross.
Jerseys will be unveiled at a 5 p.m. press conference in the Circus Maximus theater at Caesars Atlantic City. If you're in town, the press conference is open to the public and you'll have an opportunity to ask questions of the players ... and the guy from Jersey Shore, I guess, too.
