TSN on Nash to Flyers
To this point, we have heard many rumors regarding the Blue Jackets' Rick Nash coming to Philadelphia. The most prevalent being Bob, JVR, and Coots or Schenn. This doesn't seem feasible now considering the salary cap. But just about an hour ago, TSN was reporting that the Flyers are making a strong push to acquire Rick Nash. The price, you might ask? JVR, Hartnell, and Couturier. Wow. Would love to hear your thoughts, BSH.

Uhhh No!
Sorry, If you make that deal you are basically saying you don’t think you can win this year in which case what the hell do we want Nash for?! I’d send Bob, Schenn and JVR for Nash and a pick but thats as far as I’d be willing to go. Hartnell has to be here to make a run this year with or without Nash.
I wouldn’t send Schenn. I maybe would be OK with JvR (maybe), Bob (ugh) and some more salary, like Shelley or one of the new D guys. But that’s it. $7.8M is a LOT of cap, no matter his talent.

In 2015, which one of the following will prove to be a better investment?
(a) Ilya Bryzgalov's contract (b) Ryan Howard's extension (c) Mike Vick's extension (d) Greek bonds from 2009 (e) Papelbon's bloat deal
The one time I’m actually thankful for our policy of “give everyone a NMC”.

We need HH’s NMC windows-error software here.
It is doubtful that Bryz would waive the NMC. You think Hartnell would? With G as his center now? Would he really want Carter as his center? Not in this universe. Actually,it is surprising TSN would say this. I wonder if this is sourced from the Howson or Nash camp, hoping to stir the pot (Note: Nash would replace Hartnell in this scenario).
And more credibility to the theory of it being Howson-sourced is that Couturier is heading the other way. NO. IN YOUR DREAMS COLUMBUS.

Rick Nash has a NMC
Everyone get on twitter and rip the hell out of him. Make Philly sound like downtown Camden. Tell him all Flyers get team Brazilian bikini waxes. Anything to make him not want to come here.

The sediments?

Simon Gagne AND Mike Richards may move between towns, wear new jerseys and call different arenas home but, at the end of the day, they will both always be Philadelphia Flyers.
One day Sean Couturier will win the Conn Smythe. You heard it here first.

I would be ok with Jvr and Bob as the 2 big pieces in that trade. Coots looks like he’s going to be very good so I wouldn’t even consider trading him. Schenn in that trade would be over-paying but I may consider throwing him in if a team like the Rangers becomes the leaders to acquire nash. I find it hard to stomach trading away any of our rookies especially because of all the draft picks we traded. We have some great young talent that seems like it is going to be the future core of our team in a couple years.
"Fuckin right G."
They would HAVE to find a way for them to take bryz’s contract (and bryz to allow it) at the very least. Maybe JVR/bryz/1st for Mason/Nash? Mason is no upgrade but who knows maybe we’d be pleasantly surprised.

What constitutes an acceptable Rick Nash trade?
The one where he goes to someone other than the Flyers.
Or in an absolute perfect world Bryz, Briere and JVR.
Ed Snider is a crotchety old fuck.
That is all.
Option one, or they give him to us for shelly, sestito, and rinaldo. And we all know that possibility.

I have this overwhelming fear that one day I will wake up and see : “Rick Nash traded to Flyers”
Prepare your sleep apparatus.

If we trade Bob, Harsty and Juicy, I will literally throw up everywhere for days on end…if Homer even considers this move, I will be in my car and in his office in 15 minutes, kicking his teeth out

I could live with Bob, JVR, and a first rounder for Nash. If Schenn or Cooter is involved, no thanks.
It was nice to see JVRs presence last night. It harkened back to last years playoffs. He was noticeable on nearly every shift.
