Game 50, Discussion Thread: Nashville Predators at Philadelphia Flyers
Nashville Predators at Philadelphia Flyers, Feb 2, 2012 7:00 PM EST
Nashville Predators (31-16-4, 66 pts) at Philadelphia Flyers at (29-14-6, 64 pts)
7 p.m. tonight at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia
Catch the action on CSN Philly, FS Tennessee and 94WIP
[Game Preview] - [Nashville Perspective]
Tonight's goaltenders:
I have no idea what the lines are going to be. Wait until everybody tweets it during warmups.
Questions to Answer
- The Preds scored four goals in less than 11 minutes the other night against Minnesota, jumping ahead and sealing the game with about 20 seconds left. Any carry over emotion (or tiredness) from that game for Nashville?
- How's Bryz look? As solid as he did against Winnipeg?
- And on the flip side, Anders Lindback is a good, young backup, but can the Flyers exploit the lack of Pekka Rinne in goal for the Predators?
- Zac Rinaldo's back. How's he look? And is he on a line with Shelley and Sestito?
Go Flyers.

I’m DVR-ing the game and watching it at 10p. I check BSH on my phone so could everybody be cool and not post anything about the game until then? Thanks.

Well, the other night, I got my wish. Defense wasn’t great but Bryz was awesome, we made goals hard to come by, and we looked better overall as a team. I really think we need a solid regulation win tonight and I hope Bryz builds on his performance from Tuesday. Been treading water for 2 weeks now let’s get back to business tonight! GO FLYERS>

I explained the reason I conducted my early morning rant against Geoff. Immature? Yes. Out of character? Yes. Occassionally necessary to challenge those who challenge everyone else with an opposing opinion? In my opinion, also yes.
Anyway, leave it out of the game thread. I just wanted people to know that I wasn’t going mad. Also, don’t warn/ban me for trolling, I like this site.
Simon Gagne AND Mike Richards may move between towns, wear new jerseys and call different arenas home but, at the end of the day, they will both always be Philadelphia Flyers.

Haha, you admitted to deliberate trolling and said “don’t warn me for trolling”?
You won’t get banned for it as a one-time thing, but if I were a moderator (and I’m glad I’m not), I’d probably send a warning not to make a habit of it.

I’ve been on the site for like two years, pretty sure you know I’m not going to make a habit of it. A warning would be too degrading :-P

A site with internet games that I used to frequent heavily tracked accumulated hours on the site and % of your life spent there since registering.
I’m at 21,675.06 hours, 14.15% of my life since whenever they started tracking (I was there before they started the tracking). I try not to think about what I might have accomplished in 21,675.06 hours.

So realistically,
what are the chances we end up with either one of the two defensemen we will see tonight at any point?
From what I’ve been reading…not likely. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Flyers deal for another D man.
damn...
I really think I would deal a major piece for Shea Weber.
Maybe 2 major pieces. He would be an awesome fit in philly.
by RealSantaClaude on Feb 2, 2012 6:25 PM EST up reply actions
What major pieces are you thinking? I wouldn’t want to mess with the lineup too much. I’d trade JVR for him, even though I’m still itching for him to unleash all his potential.
I’d trade maybe JVR and like Coburn? is that even comparable value?
I love JVR btw. Don’t want to see him go but it’s easier to let him go when you see Shea play.

The commentary accompanying the selection was something sort of like “So what if it was an empty netter, it broke the streak of month without a goal, hey it counts”. I think that may have influenced my opinion…
