I mean, look at those four lines…from top to bottom there probably aren’t four better lines out there. After all, the Flyers DO lead the league in scoring.

I keep thinking about that beauty of an assist from Wellwood to Talbot. Does Rinaldo see plays develop like that? Maybe, but I’m not convinced.

Of course not. Rinaldo isn’t playing because he’s a playmaker, he’s playing because anytime a Jet is near the boards and Rinaldo is on the ice, he’ll be a bit more distracted.

Rinaldo has energy and hitting and brings it on all five shifts he gets in a game. Wellwood has better hands and is a better forward, but has a different game. Without Rinaldo we would need to dress Shelly or Harry Z (or Sestito when back) to try and have some of the energy, roughness, hitting or edge (and Shelly only in theory).

Why is Bryz in net? To my memory, Bryz has blown the Jets game he’s started. Loosing a game 7-8 is not exactly a stat padder or confidence boost

correct me if im wrong, but all 3 (4?) goalies gave up a shit storm of goals in that game.

Yep, and the last game against the Jets Bryz lost in a shootout after only giving up ONE goal in regulation and overtime.
The Flyers are 2011 Atlantic Division Champs, the Phillies just keep winning pennant after pennant. Great time to be a fan of those two teams on Broad Street.
With Grossman and Kubina in the lineup, our defense actually looks like an NHL defense. Veteran presence, physicality, shot blocking, hitting, strengh, really liking the two moves Holms made, on paper anyway. I think it should be a big improvement.
I agree. And Holmgren didn’t grossly overpay in my opinion.

On paper I think Holmgren did a great job of not blowing up the team for suter/weber. Although I wouldnt mind if we grabbed one of them in the offseason. Im excited for the game tonight and hopefully these two can make a big difference

I don’t have a problem with it, per se, I have a problem with the fact that in a lot of other arenas booing a really good guy when he has the puck is called petty or classless but here in Winnipeg it’s a testament to how intimidating they are.
