Gentlemen, and perhaps, Eric T in particular...
I have seen plenty of 'awards races' across the web, and most all of them ignore Matt Read for even consideration of the Calder Trophy. They focus on Gabriel Landeskog, Adam Henrique and Ryan Nugent Hopkins, which is fine, as those three are 1-2-3 in rookie points. I was hoping that the stats-gurus of BSH could shed some light on this, perhaps using Corsi/Fenwick, etc (I don't really understand these stats that well, but I would still like to see the comparison).
With Read leading all NHL rookies in goals, and all the time he plays on the PK and against tough competition (ok, so his 'tough' minutes have probably diminished some since the formation of the Coots-Max-Jake/Rinaldo shutdown line), it amazes me that he doesn't even get honorable mention.
Also, is there any stat board on the web that shows SH TOI per game? I'd love to compare the flyers SH TOI for rookies vs all the rest of the league.
