Why not a Winter Classic?

Stay connected for news and updates

while watching this amazing Flyers-Penguins series that showcased how great this rivalry is. All i could think during this was why haven't the flyers and penguins played in a winter classic yet?......I know that the flyers played in last years winter classic and the penguins played in it the year before but not only would it probably be the best winter classic in history but also it could be played on the biggest stage. Beaver Stadium in University park, PA with a capacity of 110,753 plus a few thousand extra on field seats. The NHL and NBC should be drooling over the possibility of selling 120,000 tickets to a winter classic. Finally with what happened this year TV ratings would be through the roof there are almost no flaws in this situation and the NHL should jump on the opportunity

P.S. Imagine seeing Mario Lemieux and Eric Lindros play against each other again in the alumni game
