NHL Draft 2012: Philadelphia Flyers select F Taylor Leier with 117th pick

PITTSBURGH -- With the 117th pick in the 2012 NHL Draft, the Philadelphia Flyers have selected Taylor Leier, a winger from the Portland Winter Hawks of the Western Hockey League. Leier was ranked 117th by Central Scouting in the midterm rankings and 130th in their final rankings.

In 72 games with Portland this past season, Leier scored 13 goals and 24 assists. Can't say we know too much more about him at this point, but again, we'll try to learn more as the day goes on.

There's a great profile on him over at Kukla's Korner, even though it focuses more on off-ice stuff than on-ice.
