His first story was published over the weekend, but as officially announced this afternoon by the Philadelphia Flyers, they've hired former Delaware County Times beat writer Anthony SanFilippo as the team's "inside reporter."

"Anthony is a tremendous writer and we are excited that he will be providing his insight and knowledge of the Flyers and the National Hockey League to Flyers fans at philadelphiaflyers.com," said team Senior VP of Business Operations Shawn Tilger. "As an organization, we felt it was important to provide our fans with an experienced and well-known writer who will continue to provide fresh content throughout the day."

The team says that in addition to covering the team on their official website, SanFilippo will use social media to act as "a liaison between the team and its fans." SanFilippo is a friend of the blog and we're happy to see him land on his feet after leaving the Delco Times. We'll have more on this later in the week.
