Apparently this could be the source of his recurring injury issues the last few years. Former teams including the Flyers apparently knew about this condition but were afraid to deal with it. The mass was the result of a number of injuries to the area. Simon still has much of the skating speed that made him one of the elite wings in the game. Here's hoping that his recent medical investigation and procedure leads to a new lease on his career.
