Briere and his three kids at the 2011 All-Star Game in Raleigh, N.C.
Constance Brunet, the mother of Flyers forward Danny Briere, passed away Sunday in Hull, Que. The news was confirmed by the Flyers. She was only 60 years old, and according to Cogeco News in Canada (via 25Stanley.com), she passed of a brain aneurysm.
Danny is one of the nicest, most down-to-earth professional hockey players I've ever had the chance to meet, and that's saying something considering kindness is not abnormal amongst hockey people. I can only imagine he gets a good dose of his charm from his mother, and I think we can speak for all Flyers fans in passing along our condolences to Danny and his family.
