What Should The Flyers Do To Fix Themselves?

I think that our biggest problems right now are that we have zero impact, top pairing defenseman, and we have zero high-talent scoring threat wingers. Our defense is terrible and Holmgren failed to fix it in the offseason. We also failed to get Bobby Ryan and/or Rick Nash, or any other impact player for that matter. Luke Schenn has been good so far but he is not the answer to our problems, and neither were the acquisitions of Gervais and Foster. We aren't going to get a top 10 pick in the draft unless we seriously tank it this year, which is unlikely, and we aren't going to be able to get anyone through free agency this season or in the offseason, unless we get lucky with an offer sheet to Pietrangelo or something.

What I think the Flyers need to do is look to move draft picks, Laughton, Cousins, Read, etc, for guys like Corey Perry or Bobby Ryan if possible, and/or an impact defenseman. We have too many centers and too many depth players and not enough firepower on offense or on the back end. We're a really young team. We don't have a pure scorer or a top pairing defenseman. We're going to have to trade someone that we really don't want to trade but we don't have much choice other than being stuck in mediocrity for the rest of the season and next season.
