It is a little early to be worrying about this, but what happens when Lecavalier returns? Who are his wingers? Who is the odd man out?
I think we can all agree that Raffl has made the Giroux line dynamic. Each time they finish a shift I can't wait to see them return to the ice. They look dangerous most of the time. They are winning battles, possessing the puck for entire shifts and getting really good chances. And, the points are really starting to come.
The Couturier line is a lock also. Since Downie was put on the line they have been awesome. They do a good job each night frustrating the opponents' top line. They also chip in with some nice goals. Matt Read actually leads the Flyers in goals. I love this line.
Hall is a top penalty killer so he is a lock to stay on the fourth line at center or wing.
The LOCKS right now: (don't even think about changing them)
Raffl - Giroux - Voracek
Read - Couturier - Downie
The OTHER lines:
?? - Lecavalier - ??
?? - Hall - ??
Hartnell, Simmonds, B. Schenn (one of these guys drops to the fourth line)
Rinaldo, VandeVelde, Rosehill (two of these guys sit out each night)
So who plays with Vinny and who drops to the fourth line and gets only 6-8 minutes a night? Has VandeVelde shown enough to put Rinaldo on the scratch list?
