Hello all. I've been a lurker on the site for the past 3 years or so. I am always hesitant to actually contribute to any online message board because the enjoyment vs aggravation is usually unfavorably lop-sided. But I decided to join you guys as BSH has seem to have a real nice thing going on here.
I have a three-headed scenario I'd like to get your feedback on after reading an article and comments on Hockeybuzz about the Leafs locking up Dion Phaneuf. Around here it seems like he is one of the solutions for our gaping hole of a #1 D man. So the questions becomes, can we actually get him, what are the pieces involved to do so, and is he the best answer. Here we go.
It's the last few hours before the trade dead line; The Leafs are not a playoff team, or by any reasonable account seems like they wont be come seasons end. Dion has yet to sign. Flyers are healthy and are a lock to make the playoffs with the current roster still intact(very romantic scenario I know).
Same as previous, but Dion is signed for 7mill for 7years.
The season has come and gone and Dion is a FA. I think you can see where I'm going with this...$?
I was going to throw some of my own ideas out there but I really want to see what everyone else is thinking first.
