Wednesday Morning Fly By: Well...there goes that.

Bruce Bennett

Today's open discussion thread, complete with your daily dose of Philadelphia Flyers news and notes...

*Remember those halcyon days when being a Flyers fan meant living in a world of hope and optimism (until at least late May when it was inevitably crushed)? It's early April and it's all over for us. Bastards. So yeah, last night's game sucked. Recaps: CSN Philly, Philly.com, BSH. Travis' bullet points re: Laviolette are spot on.

*Ilya Bryzgalov seems burnt out. (Courier-Post)

*Concussions suck, just ask poor Marc-Andre Bourdon. (Philly.com)

*J,S. Giguere tears into his teammates for coasting through their terrible season. It's refreshing. (Backhand Shelf)

*Steve Ott whines about being booed. Never accept a trade to Philly, my friend. (Puck Daddy)

*Kerry Fraser confirms that refs use the "make-up call" pretty frequently. In other news, grass is green and Nickelback is awful. (TSN)

*Is luck an actual trackable, replicable skill? Maybe. These stats people will track anything. (Backhand Shelf)

*Play hockey for charity! (BSH)

*The IOC keeps threatening to eliminate women's ice hockey from the Olympics, but the IIHF says NO WAY. (SB Nation)

*Late addition, because Meltzer really is the best in the business at this point. (Hockeybuzz)
