Jakub Voracek, Oliver Lauridsen, Ilya Bryzgalov headed to 2013 IIHF World Championships

Nine Flyers players will play in the World Championships, with Jake Voracek, Ilya Bryzgalov and Oliver Lauridsen jumping on the list Sunday.

Jakub Voracek, Ilya Bryzgalov and Oliver Lauridsen will also be heading to next week's World Championships in Europe.

CSN Philly reports that Voracek will play for the Czech Republic and Lauridsen will play for Denmark in the tournament which begins May 3 in Stockholm and Helsinki, and Sport Express in Russia reports that Bryzgalov will be the No. 1 goalie for their team. His backup? Sergei Bobrovsky. < insert jokes here >

The three were all pretty much no-brainers for their national squads -- Lauridsen's one of just a handful of Danish players in the NHL, Voracek is obviously one of the best Czech players in the world, and Bryz is probably the best Russian goaltender in the world despite any thoughts to the contrary you might have.

Voracek, Bryzgalov and Lauridsen push the total number of Flyers players or prospects set to play in the World Championships to nine. Claude Giroux, Matt Read, Luke Schenn and Wayne Simmonds will all play for Canada, while Phantoms goaltender Cal Heeter will suit up for the USA and forward Marcel Noebels will play for Germany.

All of Team USA's games will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network in the USA. Here's the full schedule for the tournament. It begins Friday and ends May 19.
