NHL Playoffs, Night 2: Discussion Thread

APRIL 9 - Uniondale, N.Y. - John Tavares scores a goal against Bernie Parent in his prime*. - USA TODAY Sports

Come hang out with us and watch/talk about hockey and cheer for the Islanders or something.

Day 2 of the playoffs is upon us, and the Eastern Conference finally gets going with two series of its own. Hang out with us here and talk about them. Tonight's games:

Leafs @ Bruins, 7:00 ET, CNBC
Goalies: James Reimer vs. Tuukka Rask
Fun Fact: The Leafs are playing in their first playoff game since 2004, which every single one of us knows by now but really it just gives me an excuse to post this video.

Islanders @ Penguins, 7:30 ET, NBCSN
Goalies: Evgeni Nabokov vs. Marc-Andre Fleury
Fun Fact: The last time the Penguins played a Game 1 in the postseason, the Flyers came back from down 3-0 and won, which really just gives me an excuse to post this video.

Sharks @ Canucks, 10:30 ET, NBCSN
Goalies: Antti Niemi vs. Roberto Luongo
Fun Fact: Luongo is starting, and if you're not hoping for a 47-save shutout from him tonight that would ignite a goaltending controversy in Vancouver then I don't even know you.

Go Islanders. And whoever else you may fancy in the other two contests.

* Note: the goalie in the above photo may not, in fact, be Bernie Parent in his prime.
