So....it's been a while. It doesn't feel that way to me though. I spent two weeks working a hockey camp in Brick, NJ and then had to make a choice as to where I was going to play out my first year of junior eligibility. I had a few options laid out in front of me with a slew of teams on the east coast and couple teams on the west calling and offering me contracts. After I had left Brick, I sat down with my family and close friends and we went through each team's pros and cons, striking them down one by one until I had made my decision. I will be playing for the Idaho Junior Steelheads in the Western States Hockey League! The Jr. Steelheads have won their league 3 years in a row, capping that off by winning the AAU National Championship last year posting a record of 59-1-1. The coach really likes big, strong defensemen, which I am measuring in at 6'5", 201.5lbs at camp, and has made it clear to me through training camp that he will continue to work with me throughout the year to improve my game. It's not hard to see why this team has dominated the WSHL for the time it has. The roster is laden with returnees as well as guys who were selected by USHL teams and guys that have played in the NAHL. It's really something to watch these guys play, and it gives me something to work towards, shutting those guys down. Sorry for the delay and the short post, but I have practice in about an hour, so I don't really have the time to be too wordy. Thanks everybody!
