The trade deadline is looming. We all want something good and we don't want to pay for it either.
We'll take your amazingly awesome underpaid puck-moving shot-scoring defenseman and we will give you our aging overpaid under-performing center who plays wing for us and has a no-move clause and we'll throw in a slow lumbering defenseman who can't get the puck out of our zone. Okay? Come on you ignorant-backwater-general-manager with huge budget problems...make the deal! Now.
What do you mean unfair? Our fans on the internet and sports radio think this is a great deal. Alright, you can throw in a couple of goon/fighters too, we'll take all of those you can manage. Why are you laughing? Hello? Are you there?
So our expectations are unreasonable and we could care less about those little details like salary cap, no-move clauses, etc.
Nearly every trade rumor has the other team asking for Coots and/or Brayden Schenn in return.
I love Sean Couturier and I don't want to see him playing for another team.
So, my question is:
How valuable is Couturier? Who would you have to get in order to give him up? Is he untouchable?
What if Nashville would trade Seth Jones straight up for Coots....would you do it? What kind of deal would you make?
