First fanpost ever, go easy on me.
While it may be a simple rumor, I can't help but wonder about this. And while it may be unlikely the Flyers and James van Riemsdyk reunite, we're
Flyers sports fans, and we love to speculate.
As we all are painfully aware of, the Philadelphia Flyers traded away LW James van Riemsdyk to the Toronto Maple Leafs for D Luke Schenn in 2012. Straight up. In his second season with Toronto, JVR set career highs in goals (30) and points (61) in a single season. And at the age of 25, JVR is set to hit his prime very soon, and the Flyers first line would get the sharpshooting they desperately need. (The thought of a JVR-Giroux-Voracek line is just maddening.)
Now add JVR's extremely cap friendly contract, and you have a LW of extremely high value.
So I ask you guys, what would it take for the Flyers to acquire James van Riemsdyk via trade with the Leafs?
2 first round picks, a choice between Laughton, Morin, or Gostisbehere, and Brayden Schenn?
Grossmann, AMac-Murder, Lecavalier, and a conditional 5th round pick?
I'm curious as to what other Flyers fans think about this.
