Although we are all tired of this entire contract mess, it appears that Pronger is safe. We may have just caught a break for once.

As some of you might know, Ryan Malone wore #12 during his NHL career. Until now. He gave it up for Simon Gagne and will wear #6 this year. I know this is not exactly Flyers news but I figured some of you may be interested and sort of happy to hear this news. Well... I know I am.

I would take him but I wonder if there is a spot for him on the team?

"Canadians Bill Clement, Orest Kindrachuk, Bob Kelly and Dave Schultz are known for leading the Flyers to their only two Stanley Cup titles in 1974 and 1975. They raised the Cup together and they'll raise their right hands to take the citizenship oath."

A surprisingly glowing article from the usually-anti-Flyers The Hockey News regarding prospect and AHL player Marc-Andre Bourdon.

As we all suspected, it looks as though it's about to finally become official.

This is probably a good thing for the players, but with Fehr's history and reputation, I fear another resulting lockout.

Starting this Monday, August 23, the NHL Network will be re-airing each game in the Flyers-Bruins game. While the OT games may be chopped a bit to fit it in the 2-hour window, all other games will be shown in their entirety.

The schedule is as follows:
Game 1: August 23 @ 6:00
Game 2: August 24 @ 6:00
Game 3: August 25 @ 6:00
Game 4: August 26 @ 6:00
Game 5: August 27 @ 6:00
Game 6: August 29 @ 7:00
Game 7: August 29 @ 9:00

For those who want to do nothing but kick back, relax, and watch history being made for 14 hours straight, on Sunday, August 29, NHL Network will be re-airing Games 1-5 in order starting at 9:00 AM which will directly lead into their 1st showing of Game 6 at 7 and their 1st showing of Game 7 at 9. Because it is the NHL-N, chances are the TSN broadcast will be used for Games 2-7 (which means Pierre), but it is still going to be worth it. My DVR is set!

There is a point to be made, I guess, on needing to stop these contracts somehow.

This was brought to my attention in the Fly By thread by Ben Feldman. I checked PuckDaddy and sure enough the photos were authentic.

So the engraving error wasn't a hoax, it was real. The end of the article mentions a possible mix up between engraving the Prince of Wales trophy and the President's Trophy, but I really don't buy that. The people who work at the Hall of Fame apparently don't watch much hockey, because they should know who won what, and even if they were mixed up, you should know which trophy is which.

P.S. What was the Prince of Wales trophy doing in Chicago anyways?? I would think it should travel to Philly first (it may have, I don't know for sure so correct me if I'm wrong on that). Chicago already has the Stanley Cup and the Clarence S. Campbell Bowl.

Discuss....
