Phantoms drop opener as power play fails

The Flyers AHL affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms, dropped their playoff opener to the Hershey Bears by a score of 4-2.

Phantoms open playoffs at Spectrum tonight

In an odd twist, the Phantoms will open the playoffs at home tonight, despite the fact that they are the number four seed playing the number one seed, Hershey. The Bears' home, GIANT Center, is hosting Disney On Ice this weekend and cannot hold games one or two, so the Phantoms get a bit of an advantage. Hershey still holds home ice edge, though. They will host games three, four, five, and seven. If anybody is heading to the Spectrum tonight and wants to write a recap of the game for BSH, shoot me an email.

Spectrum not done yet: Phantoms clinch playoff spot

The Flyers AHL affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms head to the postseason. Their home, the fabled Spectrum, will be demolished following their season.
