In an odd twist, the Phantoms will open the playoffs at home tonight, despite the fact that they are the number four seed playing the number one seed, Hershey. The Bears' home, GIANT Center, is hosting Disney On Ice this weekend and cannot hold games one or two, so the Phantoms get a bit of an advantage. Hershey still holds home ice edge, though. They will host games three, four, five, and seven. If anybody is heading to the Spectrum tonight and wants to write a recap of the game for BSH, shoot me an email.

It appears as though the Phantoms don't want the Spectrum to close next Sunday. They are inching closer and closer to the final East Division playoff spot, and they now sit just one point behind fourth place Binghamton with one game in hand over them. Binghamton lost to Rochester last night by a 4-2 score. Both teams are in action again tonight, with the Phantoms staying in Norfolk and the B'ton hosting Albany. JVR went pointless again last night.

David Laliberte scored with three minutes left to break a 1-1 tie and hoist the Phantoms to a 2-1 victory over Bridgeport at the Spectrum on Sunday night. Scott Munroe made 36 saves in the win.
