Brian Boucher must have done something to impress Peter Laviolette on Saturday night -- I guess a win helps -- because he'll be in net again tonight as the Flyers host the Montreal Canadiens. While that's surprising to most of us who thought he's be one-and-done in the nets before giving the spot back to Sergei Bobrovsky, it wasn't the most shocking of moves at the morning skate today.
According to Steve Whyno of Philly Sports Daily, Eric Wellwood will be on the fourth line tonight. He's been called up from the Phantoms and will replace Nikolay Zherdev. Frank Seravalli reports that it might be James van Riemsdyk who comes out of the lineup, though.
If I had to put money on it right now, I'd say it's Zherdev who comes out of the lineup. While JVR started Saturday's game on the fourth line, he quickly shuffled his way up to a line with Mike Richards and Andreas Nodl. Zherdev, who started the game with those two, was moved down to the fourth line with Blair Betts and Jody Shelley.
Of course, as soon as I finish typing that paragraph, it comes across from Tim Panaccio that Zherdev will be in. That's directly from Laviolette's mouth. JVR did indeed have a fine game against Washington, and given his in-game promotion, it'd be a weird turn of events if he were to sit tonight. I guess we'll have to wait and see exactly how this plays out.
