Brayden Schenn off IR, sent to Phantoms; Marshall going with him, Coburn to play Wednesday?

New, comments

More roster moves! The Philadelphia Flyers just announced all of the following:

- Brayden Schenn has been activated from long-term injured reserve, and he's been sent to the Adirondack Phantoms. I'm sure he's just there for conditioning purposes and will be back when he's ready to go. The Phantoms play Thanksgiving night in Binghamton, then Friday, Saturday and Wednesday at home vs. Springfield, Albany and Syracuse.

- Kevin Marshall will be in that car with Schenn on the way to Glens Falls. After making his NHL debut last night, Marshall will return to the Phantoms in time for the game on Thursday night. Marc-Andre Bourdon stays with the Flyers and will apparently make the trip to Long Island.

- With Marshall gone, the Flyers have called Harry Zolnierczyk back up from Trenton of the ECHL, even though he never actually went to Trenton of the ECHL. That brings them back to 23 players on the active roster. Oh, and if Jody Shelley isn't a healthy scratch tomorrow I'm going to scream.

Also being reported by the beat writers today: Chris Pronger will not play tomorrow against the Islanders, still suffering from that virus.

With Marshall gone, that almost certainly means that Braydon Coburn will be ready to play against NYI. Without Marshall, Pronger and Coburn, the Flyers would be down to just five defensemen. Marshall would still be here if Coburn wasn't ready to go.

The Flyers have $1,157,461 in wiggle room under the cap after these moves today.
