Ray Emery signs in Anaheim, must clear waivers

Ray Emery will make his comeback attempt with the Anaheim Ducks organization. The team signed him to a two-way contract earlier today and they'll assign him to the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL, assuming he clears waivers.

He must clear waivers on the way down because he's an NHL veteran, but he's exempt from re-entry waivers. Any team that claims him now must keep him on the NHL roster, and that fact alone should cure any of those "maybe the Flyers will pick him up" thoughts in your head.

Emery isn't coming here, so don't start thinking down that path. I do think I'll be cheering for the Ducks, though, should Emery find his way onto the NHL roster this season.
