The Flyers' season may not start on time, but at least we have the Philadelphia Phant--- oh, right.

While we might need to travel farther to see Phantoms hockey in the event of a lockout, at least the team will still be playing, and obviously, quite a few current Flyers might find themselves playing in the AHL if there's an NHL work stoppage. That means we should care about the Adirondack Phantoms schedule, which was released by the league this afternoon. Hooray, hockey!

Some highlights:

  • The Phantoms will open the year at the Glens Falls Civic Center on Oct. 13 against the Portland Pirates.
  • Now an annual tradition, the Phantoms will host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday night, Feb. 23.
  • They'll make one more local trip during the season: On January 20, the Albany Devils will host the Phantoms at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
  • Other semi-local games, beginning with Hershey: Sat., Feb. 23 and Sun., Mar. 17.
  • The Phantoms will be in Wilkes-Barre on Sat., Jan 12 and. Sat., Feb. 2.
  • In other words, if you want to catch Phantoms hockey locally any time in the near future, you're going to have to make a bit of a trek. It's only five hours to Glens Falls ...
