Claude Giroux will be in the lineup on Tuesday night when the Flyers again play the New York Rangers, this time on home ice at Wells Fargo Center.
Originally scheduled to be out two weeks with his lower-body injury (which was probably a muscle thing somewhere in his leg), Giroux will return three days ahead of that schedule. He's been skating for six days now and there was talk that he might have played over the weekend, so it's not like they're rushing him back into things here.
All told, the Flyers should have a much better lineup on the ice than they did a night ago in New York. They barely met the veteran minimum for a preseason game last night, so there are plenty of fresh legs ready to go tonight.
Finally, a preseason game worth watching: Giroux returns, #Flyers going with full lineup (minus MacDonald) tonight at home vs. Rangers.— Frank Seravalli (@DNFlyers) September 30, 2014
With just two preseason games left on the schedule as well -- tonight and Thursday in Washington -- the Flyers will likely try to get their regular lineup as much time as possible before the season opener next Wednesday in Boston.
We don't know if the Rangers will reciprocate with an actual roster, but we'll see come this evening.
