This is awesome: A graphical representation of "team chemistry" using goals scored

Mathew Brown, a student in the department of Computer Sciences at the University of Toronto, recently developed a pretty cool network diagram that models NHL "team chemistry" using goals scored when certain teammates are together on the ice. The line thickness represents the number of goals by each player, and you can hover over the lines to see how many times each player has directly factored in on another player's goal (first assists). The model is even updated after every game.

Takeaway #1: Holy dang are Giroux and Voracek incredible.
