NHL draft 2015: Flyers trade down, select center Mikhail Vorobyov with No. 104 pick

New, comment

The Flyers moved down slightly in the fourth round before taking a Russian center.

Set to have the 99th overall pick in the 2015 NHL draft, which they obtained last summer in the Scott Hartnell for R.J. Umberger swap, the Flyers proceeded to trade down with the L.A. Kings for pick No. 104 and a 6th-round selection in the 2016 draft.

With the 104th pick, the Flyers have selected Russian center Mikhail Vorobyov from Tolpar Ufa of the MHL.

Vorobyov was ranked No. 24 among European skaters in Central Scouting's final rankings this season. He's 6'2" and 194 pounds and put up 8 goals and 12 assists in 39 games in the MHL (the KHL's feeder league) in 2014-15.

Vorobyov also played for Russia's team in the under-18 World Junior Championships this past spring, putting up four points (1 goal, 3 assists) in five games.

More to come.
