Gabriel Landeskog has a rough life. He's young, he's Swedish, he's a multi-millionaire professional athlete... and he hasn't scored a goal in nine games. Quite frankly, I don't know how he even has the strength to go on.
Landeskog is almost the anti-Shayne Gostisbehere in that sense. The last time he scored a goal was Feb. 2, nearly a month ago at this point. The last time Gostisbehere scored a goal was just one game ago. And when he's not scoring goals, he's assisting on them; Landeskog, meanwhile has just three assists over the same time frame as Gostisbehere's point streak.
So his envy is understandable - but there's more to it.
When Ghost set the record for rookie defensemen point streaks, Twitter user @Taavettikeijo noticed something funny about his stick:
@NHLFlyers why @s_ghost14 plays @GabeLandeskog92 sticks? pic.twitter.com/lEJjhsyqHQ
— Ville Tikka (@Taavettikeijo) February 13, 2016
Which prompted this response:
@Taavettikeijo @s_ghost14 glad to see they're working for somebody
— Gabriel Landeskog (@GabeLandeskog92) February 15, 2016
Since this tweet, Landeskog has put up two of his aforementioned three assists, and that's it.
Maybe he should start putting Gostisbehere's name on his stuff.
